Obligations Futures is a short participatory futurism film about the future of community bonds in Quebec and Canada. It mixes documentary and science fiction to immerse participants in a form of practical utopia.

This film reinvents how a little-known and underused financial tool – community bonds – can become a powerful lever for social transformation and grassroots resilience. The future represented in the scenario was partly imagined through a participatory futurism workshop which involved various changemakers already working on making this practical utopia a reality.

Now, this new tool will serve as an inspiration and mobilization tool, for institutions and the general population, in order to nurture a stronger collective imagination in favour of more participatory and solidarity-based finance.
